Welcome Letter and activities

Dear Walden student:

Welcome to your new Walden University course. Apparently, you should have access now to the Walden platform thru http://uvm.waldenu.edu
Please try to log in as soon as possible and start your respective courses. Remember to use your old Id member and password. In case of problems logging in, please send me a copy of what you get on the screen and will try to help you.

We have now a Walden University Blog. We have information useful for you and we invite you to participate sending your articles or writings to me so we can upload them onto the blog. The web-site address is: http://www.waldenguadalajara2007.blogspot.com/

There is a trip to Valle de Bravo on behalf of Walden University. Students from all campi are participating and you are invited to attend. We will need to leave Guadalajara on Friday the 28th of September at around 5:00 am. Meet in Toluca at around 11:00 am and going to Valle de bravo from there. Accommodation, dinner and breakfast for Friday night will cost $300 pesos per person. The cost of the transport will depend on how many people go to the trip but I calculate if we go around 15 people, it will cost us around $600 pesos more for the transport. Total of $900 pesos. I am getting information about how much is an extra night and will let you know if of interest.

If you are interested in participating please book your trip with me giving me the $300 pesos and I will include you. Latest date for booking is Monday the 20th of September.

There´s a conference – debate on October the 24th titled “Nafta Plus” – We will bring 2 experts on Nafta and there will be a constructive discussion about this Treaty. You are invited to attend. Please wait for more news.

Also there will be a “field trip” to Forum de las Culturas in Monterrey and visit Laredo Texas Customs department, including a chat with an American Import export – completely in English. If you want to travel with us, please contact me also. Price is around $3,500 pesos.

There is also a Walden scholarship to be won every semester. For next semester the students that wins the scholarship is the one that gets the best grade on the course according to Walden grades. Please make your best effort.

Finally on the 28th of November we will have Waldenarama III with different activities. If you would like to participate in the organization of this event, please let me know.

The format for classes this semester is only thru “asesorías”. If you need assistance, please book with me sending me an e-mail and we can organize a meeting. I am free only in the afternoons.
